This tours and travels are technically call SIC (Seat In Coach) tours and their departures are at scheduled dates, the program is fixed (can not be changed following the customers requests) and the customers can book as many seats they need, the other seats will be sent to other customers by the tour organizer.
Usually departures are confirmed when the minimun requested participants nr is reached.

The SIC tours main advantage is the quotation which will be noticeably less expensive than the same tour on individual basis.
Also in many cases, for accessible SIC tours, the organizer arrange a general assistance which could be useful for people travelling alone.
The main problem is those kind of tours are very few all over the World.

Actually, we know about accessible SIC tours (in English) in Ireland, United Kingdom, South Africa, …
SIC tours could be available in other Countries, like France or Germany, but maybe the staff will talk in national languages: French or German.

As you can see, the list of available SIC tours is not long; SIC tours are tourist products connected with high-density destinations and the accessible tourism is a niche market.
However, sometime worldwide tour operators specialized in accessible tourism arrange tours for their customers and in this case can be possible to get some places.
The most favourable periods are the summer months from May to September.

As alternative solution it’s possible to arrange accessible tours for individual travellers travelling with relatives and/or friends in small and medium size parties.
In these cases the itinerary and the scheduled date will be adapted to the travelers wishes and needs; but their cost could be higher than SIC tours.

2.A) If you are a small party, up to 4 or 5 people, the best solution, while in Europen, it’ll be to travel by accessible trains (connecting i.e. all the main European towns) and to get, locally, accessible transports for transfers and visits.
This solution will cost less because it will not include a van many days rental plus the driver’s lodging and meals costs.
2.B) If you are a medium size party or a large size party (up to 6 people or more) , the best solution could be to travel the full itinerary by an accessible vehicle with driver.
A van (up to 8 people including 1 wheelchair or less people with 2 or 3 wheelchairs) or by a large accessible coach (up to a maximum of 6-8 wheelchairs clamped inside with other 15/30 seats).
This solution will show better the countryside, not only the main towns.
A larger people party will share the driver’s costs.

An other possible solution is to rent an accessible van and to drive it by yourself.
These accessible vans has lift or ramp, can fix inside 1 wheelchair(in some cases more wheelchairs) and they can hold up to 8 people (in some case no more than 3/4 people).
The driver must be an ablebodied driver with his Country normal driving permit (In some case an International Driving Licence is requested; it's a national driving permit translation in many languages).
